Not from Faber, but I love these reissuing’s of China Mieville’s books (image take from here click to see the rest of the series), I think The City and The City is my fav of the set.
Another gorgeous set from Faber, each is a different colour, with the same styling/fonts.
Faber and Faber - Part of the Faber Finds collection, each colour represents: Fiction, Non-Fiction, Poetry and Childrens.
Image 1 - Astronomy magazine, factual, charting patterns/cycles of the sun/moon. Colder, more simplistic, but weighty with detail. Older, specialist audience.
Image 2 - Fashion magazine (images from Guardian), younger audience, little text, some descriptions. Where to buy details/designers etc in bottom corner. Funkier text to reflect younger audience.
Image 3 - Photography guide, regarding changing light sources, levels. Again more specialist aim, balance of simplistic and artistic.
I like the balance of image 1, with the white text on top of the dark photograph. I think the 3 panels of text work well, and again are well balanced. Suiting the style/audience of the article.
Vogue - each page has a different layout (within reason), but there is a consistency between the issues, particular sections look the same from issue to issue. Their main articles/interviews and heavier text stories all follow a similar pattern/style.
This has 3 columns of text, with pictures/quotes in various places on the page. The first page of the article is heavier with pictures. The main body font is a traditional Times New Roman font (as there is usually a great volume of text on the page), with the headers, sud-headings and quotes are in different fonts (quotes are italicized).
